Make or Set up a Bird Feeder

President Roosevelt loved birds. As a boy he spent many hours in the woods and fields of his family’s estate searching for and observing the wide variety of birds that live in or visit the Hudson Valley of New York.

Why not make or set up a bird feeder in your yard?
Bird feeders don’t have to be fancy. They can be made using a variety of ordinary objects found around your home at very little cost. Google how to make one, or ask your parents to buy one for your yard.

  • Where would you set it up?
  • How many birds do you think your feeder will attract?
  • What types of birds do you think your feeder will attract?
  • What kinds of seeds do they seem to like the best?
